Google has Eliminated a popular Android VPN From the Play Store following vulnerabilities were found in the service that may allow hackers to redirect users to malicious servers.

SuperVPN - the offending service - has over 100 million installs and featured one of the best five VPN search results in Google's program shop before it was withdrawn.

The VPN Contains vulnerabilities that open the door to man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks, which can expose messages sent between the consumer and supplier and most critically - divert users from bonafide VPN servers.


Rigorous Testing also revealed the app allows sensitive data to be sent over insecure HTTP.

SuperVPN Has drawn criticism on multiple occasions over its suspicious clinics, and also the precise origin of this Program remains unclear.

Its Publisher SuperSoftTech is recorded as Singapore-based, but an investigation into the Program's lineage reveals it's owned by Jinrong Zheng, an independent programmer likely based in Beijing.

Zheng Can also be responsible for LinkVPN - that is ostensibly located in Hong Kong - and also is linked with Shenyang Yiyuansu Network Technology, the program developer listed against SuperVPN on the Apple App Store.
